Levi Leipheimer, yellow jersey, rolls out of Newpark with the peleton Sunday afternoon for the final stage of the 2011 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah. The final stage, “Queen Stage,” covering 106.6 miles and over 11,000 vertical feet of climbing with mountain top finish at Snowbird Resort in Salt Lake City. Defending 2010 Tour of Utah winner levi Leipheimer was able to hold his lead over Sergio Henao of Gobernacion after several attacks along the final climb to win this years tour.

I can’t deny it , I’m a huge cycling fan and avid cyclist. So I was excited to be able to photograph the Larry H Miller Tour of Utah this past weekend. The race considered to be “America’s toughest stage race,” drew some of Americas biggest talent and a handful of amazing foreign racers to the Beehive state. Over 100 racers on 20 teams participated in the 6-day race that covered 325-miles around the state of Utah.

Congratulations to Levi Leipheimer (Astana) on winning The Amgen Tour of California for a third straight year. Hats off to Utah native and America’s Time Trial Champion David Zabriskie (Garmin-Slipstream) for finishing 2nd.

Of course all the attention was on the man, Lance Armstrong (Astana) who finished 7th not bad for domestique. This image was taken before Stage 3 San Jose to Modesto. The crowds where huge, all wanting to see the legend.
